How To Support Your Body To Heal From Covid 19

The Truth About Covid – Part 4

So far in this series about Covid 19, we’ve looked at how it is more than just a virus, what happens in the physical body when you have Covid, and its metaphysical meaning.

But what if you have it right now?

How can you support your body to heal from Covid 19?

With covid, YOU get to choose how deep into the rabbit hole you go. 

How you choose to support yourself will determine how easily you re-emerge from the rabbit hole.

And how willing you are to do the deep shadow work that you’re being invited to do will have a big impact on the intensity of your experience.

Now, let’s talk about how to support your physical body through covid 19.

  • Water

    • Drink plenty of filtered water. At least 2.5 to 3 litres per day. Add a pinch of Himalayan pink salt or Celtic sea salt to your water to support your body to absorb it. If you have soluble magnesium salts, put them in, too. Your mineral salts are being used up more right now by your body. And your metaphysical body needs salt (Earth) and water more than ever. If cold water is intolerable to your system, drink hot water from a freshly boiled kettle with a pinch of salt.
    • Immerse yourself in a hot bath rich in dissolved epsom salts (magnesium) at least once a day. My daily bath was the only time I felt human and the pain in my body would ease. If you want to add crystals to the water, light candles, or anything else that makes it feel more sacred — go ahead. Your metaphysical body needs the support.
  • Liver support

    • ​​​​​​​Your liver is working overtime to process the viral neurotoxin and extra immune system refuse, so it needs your loving support right now. Eating bitter greens, like rocket or dandelion leaves, will be deeply supportive to your natural detoxification pathways. If you can’t stomach them, take a liver support supplement that includes bitter greens. Your local health food store will be able to advise what’s right for you.
    • Drink plenty of water (as described above) to help flush your liver and kidneys and to support your body to release the illness.
    • Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep as much as you can. Sleep supports your liver.
    • Make sure you’re having regular bowel movements as they clear away the toxins from your body, and relieve the workload on your liver.
    • Drink herbal teas. Whatever you can stomach is good, but if you can, use the more medicinal herbs. Think: dandelion leaves, chamomile, pine needles, lemon balm, nettles, and all the lovely flavourful herbs, like spearmint and lavender, to make it taste better.
  • Anti inflammatories/blood thinners

    • ​​​​​​​Support your body to release inflammation and thin the blood. This will decrease the long-term effects of the neurotoxin component of covid. The inflammation created in your body with this illness is huge. Anything you do now to decrease it will help.
    • Avoid inflammatory foods, like sugar, dairy, and gluten-containing grains. Keep it simple. Eat fresh vegetable soups or chicken broth, salads, fruit, nuts, grass-fed meats, fish. Eat as close to nature as possible, and listen to your body. If you don’t feel like food, don’t force it in. Your body knows what it needs in order to heal.
    • Eat turmeric and black pepper, or take turmeric supplements.
  • Supplements

    • ​​​​​​​You may like to support your body with supplements. What I found helpful was magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin D3, turmeric, a broad-spectrum probiotic, NAC (N-Acetylcysteine), and quercetin. Plus a liver tonic supplement if you can’t tolerate bitter greens.
  • Heat

    • ​​​​​​​Keep your body warm at all times. Use hot water bottles, heat packs, dress warmly, rug up with blankets, have hot baths.
    • If your fever is high, don’t overheat yourself. But don’t chill yourself too much either. Get into a hot bath with a cool damp facecloth on your forehead and allow the water to cool down naturally with you in it.
  • Nervous system support

    • ​​​​​​​Keep your body warm and rest as much as possible.
    • Follow the anti-inflammatory support suggestions above. The less inflammation in your nervous system, the better, in terms of long term complications.
    • Be gentle with yourself. Allow yourself to feel and process whatever is coming up, even if it’s big emotions, grief, sadness or fear. Remember, it’s not you, it’s the covid.
